Der Kaiser zur Zeit, Claudio II befahl seinen Soldaten nicht zu heiraten und sich nicht zu verlieben, weil seine Angst war, dass die Soldaten nicht in den Krieg gingen.
Valentin horchte nicht auf das Kaiserliche Gesetz und heirate heimlich mehrere Paare. Wurde gefangen genommen und am 14 Februar 270 n. C. get\u00f6tet.
Deshalb Valentin wurde zum Besch\u00fctzer der Verliebten gew\u00e4hlt.<\/p>
